the quarter. They competed in the
midweek fixtures with local schools
and also represented their school
proudly at festivals and sports days.
We look forward to the 2017 rugby
season and the U/13 A participation
in the St Stithian’s Easter Rugby
Festival.
Soccer at Parklands is enjoyed
by many football loving boys and
girls and it is pleasing to see how
the Preparatory fields are filled with
players during soccer practices and
matches. Parklands College is the
only school in the area who has
entered A and B teams into the local
league at this level. Despite the
challenge for our B, C and D teams
in competing against the A teams of
the opposing schools, our learners
showed an obvious development of
skill and tenacity. The depth in our
age groups without doubt contributes
to our all round successful soccer
results.
The hockey season produced
much excitement. Our girls were
committed and worked hard at
practices to improve their basic
skills, demonstrating a determination
to succeed. It has been wonderful
to observe the excited cheers and
motivation of our parents on the
sidelines in response to the obvious
talent of our hockey girls.
Our chess team made great strides
this quarter as they participated in
weekly matches against neighbouring
schools. They have impressed their
coach with their strategic chess moves
and strive for ‘ Check Mate’.
