ELEVATE EDUCATION STUDY
PROGRAMME FOR GRADE 11
On the 21 January the Grade 11 learners had
the opportunity to attend an Elevate Education
workshop. You may read more about them and
the work they do by clicking on the link below:
http://us.elevateeducation.comThe workshop was presented by a young
and enthusiastic Nicholas Golding. Learners
were introduced to various study methods that
were stimulated through an informative and
entertaining workshop.
The session explored the differences
amongst three types of learners:
1.
A learner who learns the material given
to them.
2.
One who masters the material.
3.
A learner who understands; masters the
material and then applies it creatively.
After the new study methods were explored,
the learners left, feeling confident with their new
acquired skills.
“The workshop was] very helpful. It’s very eye
opening to me how many of these methods I
could use to better and improve my learning
experience.”
- Ricardo Pereira
“I would say that is was very helpful because
I learnt what I was doing wrong with my study
methods, knowing that I will now improve.”
- Nikita Mavume
“I thought the program was very well presented.
I really enjoyed all the information that was
given. The presenter was very enthusiastic and
well informative.”
- Pascale Schoeman
We are excited for the follow up Elevate
Education workshop that will be taking place on
3 May.

Outdoor Adventure Grade
Camps 2016
As is our tradition, we start the year off by
the entire school attending a variety of outdoor
adventure camps. This year was no exception
and the learners returned with wonderful
memories and ready for the academic year.
The Grade 7s went to Witzenberg near
Ceres, but stopped on the way at Ceres Zipline
where they thoroughly enjoyed flying through
the air.
At the campsite, the Lead 4 Life facilitators
took them through an exciting programme of
activities which included war cry and dance-off
competitions, Stalk-the-Lantern, a game-viewing
hike, and a photo-capturing competition.
