Tell me and I’ll forget;
show me and I may
remember; involve me
and I’ll understand.
~ Chinese proverb
Our focus in 2013 was to facilitate
purposeful learning through music and
movement, whilst keeping learning fun for
our little ones. It was exciting to watch
them reach beyond our expectations and
encourage them to discover the world
around them.
Special Person’s Day was one of the
highlights of our year. Learners took pride
in showing their special people where
they spend their days. Beautifully planned
activities and songs entertained loved ones
who came from near and far. Everyone left
with a smile on their face and some lovely
memories.
Our first outing to ButterflyWorld, in the
Winter Quarter, was a fun and educational
day, filled with many new experiences.
The Grade 00’s were able to show their
independence as we waved goodbye to our
school. We saw many weird and wonderful
creatures in the Reptile Bay, Spider Room
and Iguana Cage. In the tropical garden of
ButterflyWorld, there are many different
species of this amazing insect. The little
ones were particularly interested in the
butterflies emerging from their chrysalises
right before our eyes.
Our little artists wowed their families and
friends with our art exhibition “All Things
Bright and Beautiful”. Every class had its
own style and nuance, creating different
experiences for the many art lovers.
Their hard work and creativity produced
outstanding two and three-dimensional
masterpieces.
We were overjoyed with our Grade
00’s amazing talent that was showcased at
the Summer Festival and during the end
of year concert. Our little ones began to
look forward to their special night weeks in
advance. They were beyond excited to have
an afternoon nap at school and hotdogs with
their peers before the big performance.
We are proud of the little one’s
achievements this year and we are looking
forward to seeing them succeed and flourish
in their new environments in 2014!
