PRE-PRIMARY
The Pre-Primary is abuzz with technology wizards, ranging from capable
three year olds finding their way around the iPad between screens and apps,
to Grade R learners who are able to "log on/off" without any assistance!
Our little one's are privileged indeed! They are experiencing and are
exposed to everyday modern technologies, which allows them to explore
in many different ways. From viewing short documentaries onYouTube to
listening to stories on-line.
The Apple TV in our Grade R classes enhances learning and engages learn-
ers as they participate and collaborate. The various discussion themes were
explored through Book Creator and iMovie.
During weekly computer lessons, the Grade R’s acquire the essential skills
of working with a mouse, "logging on/off" and accessing files on theWeb.
We encourage learners to use technology to learn. Even our youngest
learners have access to mobile devices to explore and have fun.
JUNIOR PREPARATORY
What a phenomenal year it has been for ITC in the Junior Preparatory! It
has been rewarding to observe the magnificent ITC projects being produced
in the classrooms. The educators and learners alike have shown innovation
and imagination when setting and completing projects on their iPads. The
Grade Two and Three learners entered their new classrooms with their
background knowledge and skills in tow, as they had acquired these in 2012.
They seemed to know just how to use their iPads effectively to enhance the
quality of their projects, and they enjoyed sharing new techniques with their
peers.
The Grade One learners were excited about using their iPads for the
first time in a One2One environment. They left their educators amazed at
how quickly they were able to transfer their newly acquired skills to their
theme-based projects on the iPads. The Grade Two learners used iMovie to
document the habitats they had designed for their own creatures, and they
were able to share this with their classmates. The Grade Three learners
worked hard at creating their very own library with a selec-
tion of factual books. They covered topics such
as Safety, Life Cycles and Space, to
name but a few.
It has been a successful year for the Junior Preparatory and
our Apple One2One programme. We look forward to see-
ing what our digital learners have in store for us in 2014!

SENIOR PREPARATORY
The Senior Preparatory has been a ‘techno-
haven’ this year. iPads and MacBook have become
like another stationery item, with the children
enjoying having the device ‘at their fingertips’
on a daily basis.
Traditional teaching makes way for
personalised projects during the vari-
ous lessons, illustrating how engaged
the children are when the iPad
and MacBook are integrated into
their lessons.The integration
of subjects has made the
classroom experience
more meaningful, and the
learners have become
digital ‘connoisseurs’.
