Junior Preparatory

Grade 1 – 3

A Journey of Discovery and Growth

In this vibrant space, learning comes to life through exploration and hands-on experiences. We prioritise essential skills such as Literacy and Numeracy, building a strong academic foundation while fostering emotional growth and well-being. Our curriculum is infused with technology that sparks learners’ imagination ensuring that every learner develops the confidence, creativity, and collaboration skills needed for future success.

Each week is filled with exciting opportunities for self-expression and growth. From Robotics, Drama, Music, Art, Design and Library time, our learners are encouraged to explore their interests and talents. Participation in sport is not just encouraged—it’s an essential part of their experience, promoting teamwork and resilience. In addition to these enriching activities, our Robotics Club, Cookery, and cultural pursuits such as Dance, Drama, and the Design Society, provide learners with even more ways to engage, learn, and grow.

Learning Journey

Academics

The early years of children’s formal education is the foundation upon which future academic and life skills are built. In the Junior Preparatory a natural curiosity and love of learning blossom within a classroom that is supportive, dynamic, and enquiry based.

We believe that the subject Life Skills supports and strengthens the teaching of mathematics and language, giving learners practical topics in which they can practise their reading, writing, and numeracy skills. Life Skills equips learners for meaningful and successful learning in a rapidly changing society. It includes key beginning concepts drawn from history, geography, natural sciences and technology, as well as the arts. In addition, its focus on developing perceptual skills such as auditory and visual perception, hand-eye coordination, and sensory memory, provides learners with the foundation for all future learning and development.

Every learner has an innate wish to explore their world and the Junior Preparatory provides a platform for such experiential learning. Learners’ ideas and expressions are valued, and the ultimate goal of producing confident, independent learners is achieved within a technology-rich, creative and intellectually stimulating environment.

Our educators offer a challenging and stimulating education in an achievement-focused culture. They are knowledgeable, enthusiastic and have high expectations of their learners. Each individual learner is valued, and progress is closely monitored. The educators provide exceptional academic support, within the regular instructional programme and through additional tutorials that provide personalised learning support.
