It has been an exciting year for Grade 9s,
welcoming a number of new learners to the
ranks.
Diversity has been somewhat of a theme
for the year with our group excelling in many
different arenas - from motocross and public
speaking to dance, netball and football. The
highest accolade went to Nikki when he was
selected to play for a UK football club and,
sadly, left us mid-year. Ben travelled to Jersey
to play cricket in the Channel Islands. Kirsten
and Nunu danced their way to success in Sun
City and then again in theWestern Province
Hip Hop Championships. Rob has debated his
way into a ‘Best Speaker’ prize or two. Matt
continues to impress in Motocross.
One of the highlights of our year was the
Madiba Awareness Project. Kirsty came up with
a great idea and many hands brought it into
fruition, literally! The beautiful face of Madiba is
a wonderful tribute to the man.
Of course, with this being the final year
in the GET phase, our learners have been
working diligently as they prepare for FET and
we have viewed our top achievers with great
pride and joy.
All in all, it has been a year of growing into
young adults and celebrating life to the full.
