3 SERVICE The Interact Club visited Amathemba School at Home of hope and donated printing paper to them. They arranged a number of beach clean-ups. We hosted a successful blood clinic where we managed to donate 24 units. EVENTS HOUSE PLAYS Once again the House Plays were well supported and thoroughly enjoyed by all. The following prizes were awarded: HARVARD: Best Play YALE: Best Technology, Best Costumes and Set OXFORD: Best Director and Script CAMBRIDGE: Best Backstage BEST ACTOR AND ACTRESS Joel Apalata and Morgan Santo BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR AND ACTRESS Oliver Knocker and Sesona Mbovane MATRIC VARIETY SHOW The matrics surprised friends and foes with some brilliant, some hilarious items and some surprising items! It was a great evening out and a wonderful way for them to raise money towards their gift to the school and the charity of their choice. Category winners at Eisteddfod Bruchtime Concert Culture Assembly Public Speaking Champions Visiting Authors Matric Variety Show Shakspeare Safari Public Speaking Champions Public Speaking Champions HARVARD: Best House Play Jazz in Curie Quad Marimbas WORLD BOOK DAY We celebrated WBD with our annual Shakespeare safari around the campus and invited two authors to come chat to us about their books. Learners could also purchase books at a pop-up store in Grand Central. MOTHER’S DAY BREAKFAST The Grade 10 Hospitality learners treated the mothers to a very special breakfast in the foyer of Curie Hall. Half of them were the chefs and the other half were the waitrons for the day. What a memorable experience for all! EQUITY AND DIVERSITY The Learner Equity Council and the Equity & Diversity Prefects prepared special assemblies and reminded us on Social Media of the importance of Freedom Day, Africa Day and Youth Day this quarter. We are busy preparing for Mandela Day next quarter as well.
