Quarter 4 Newsletter 2022

10 GRADE 00 Lauren Cowing and Chanay de Klerk The fourth quarter began with our Grade 00’s making their teachers, parents and loved ones very proud when they sang their concert songs with enthusiasm! A lot of time and effort goes into their concert and they loved every minute of being on stage. This quarter we focused on countries around the world, their landmarks and what animals which can be found in different countries. A wonderful way to end these themes was with our ‘Around the world’ food and dress-up day. The children tasted the different flavours of the world by walking around to each country (class) and tasting different food items. This was one of the highlights of the year where every class went the extra mile and took part. We created a playlist including songs from different countries, while we walked around with the aroma of curries, pizza, boerewors rolls, chocolate fountains, slushy machines and all. What a fun and interactive way to learn about the world around us. It has been an absolute pleasure observing each little one grow and flourish this year. It is bittersweet to see them spreading their wings and moving to Grade R next year but we are so proud of their progress. We wish our little "superstars" everything of the very best for 2023! Have a wonderful, safe and fun-filled holiday! GRADE R Tali Maltz, Candice Kemp, Andrea Reynolds Our final quarter is filled with many a tender moment, but also ones of immense pride and accomplishment. Our themes have enthralled the learners, specifically those of wild animals, reptiles and dinosaurs. The learners were delighted to create beautiful spiral snakes. The reptile show was highly educational with many gasps of wonder as we learned about pythons, tortoises and lizards. ‘Wear it wild day’ allowed our learners the opportunity to express their zany, creative and wild sides. One of our annual highlights is always the end of the year concert. The little ones thoroughly enjoyed enacting a variety of roles in our fabulous concert, “Clever Little Peter”, ranging from Peter, the Wolf, the Cat, the Duck and Hunters to Bugs, Blossoms and Fairies. The Grade R's spent many hours rehearsing and our little actors were very proud of their delightful dancing and acting skills. An extraordinarily momentous and precious event in the Grade R calendar is our annual Graduation Ceremony. The Grade R learners looked so smart and radiant as they proudly dressed in their wonderful uniforms, white dresses and black gowns, looking ever so dapper in their graduation outfits. We are so proud of their memory skills in learning so many lyrics to the graduation songs. It is a treasured and emotional event for all those in attendance and few were left with a dry eye as they proudly watched their little ones confidently walk on stage to collect their Graduation scrolls and medals. As this quarter draws to a close, with the fondest memories, new friendships made, and a host of fantastic acquired skills on board, we bid our little learners all the best for their forthcoming adventures in 'big school'. We are certain that we have equipped them with the ability to confidently flourish as they proceed to Grade 1. We have proudly observed their progress and accomplishments and wish all our special children and their families a most peaceful, relaxing and safe holiday and a wonderful festive Season. “Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye, Cheerio, here I go, on my way.” Are you looking to buy, sell, rent or lease in the City Bowl / Gardens area?
