Quarter 4 Newsletter 2021

8 GRADE 00 Lauren Cowing and Candice Kemp Our quarter began with lots of fun, laughter and sunny days in the Pirate garden! The Grade 00’s enjoyed the ‘Mammals in South Africa show’ and they ended the term with ‘The incredible dog show’ which is always a highlight. We enjoyed many different themes, but the children’s favourite this quarter was the science week where we experimented with a variety of messy experiments! The children were amazed at the experiments done in class and learnt new vocabulary such as hypothesis, conclusion, result and experiment. It has been an absolute pleasure observing each and every little one grow and flourish this year. It is bittersweet to see them spreading their wings and moving to Grade R next year. We wish our little "superstars" everything of the very best for 2022. Have a wonderful holiday! GRADE R Tali Maltz and Anine de Lange As we wrap up our year, our final quarter in Grade R is always one in which we nostalgically reminisce our moments of splendour, looking back at the tremendous growth, development and progress as well as multiple opportunities and adventures we have had. We recall accomplishments and exciting moments in our learning adventure. We look back in awe at all of the hard work and small steps that have brought us to the next chapter ahead and the monumental road ahead in formal schooling. This year has been an adventure and our learners deserve immense praise for the milestones they have achieved in these unprecedented times. Our various themes have drawn our learners into the world we explore with our senses and the excitement of wild and extinct animals. Our learners delighted in attending the exciting ‘Dairy Farming’ show, where they tasted a variety of products and learned about the value of these gentle creatures. We were also incredibly fortunate to be the full first to use the wonderful new Robotics kits. In the 'Hooked on Books' show we followed the journey of two delightful characters as they shared local tales, including the lovely story of Katinga by Mabel Mnensa. It is a story, full of colour and folklore, which teaches children to be proud of their heritage and confident in who they are. It taught our young learners the value of sowing kindness and positivity in their journey in life. Our annual highlights and fantastic accomplishment is always the Grade R Graduation. Our little ones did us proud as they tirelessly rehearsed and enthusiastically prepared for this special event. They could not wait to finally have parents and relatives on campus to share this precious ceremony. They were determined to demonstrate that they are now ready for Grade 1 and enthralled their loved ones with our special graduation songs, encapsulating our school motto and virtues; being kind and loving, having strength through knowledge and building wonderful futures for us all. They were standing proudly in their distinguished gowns, with beaming smiles, ready to receive their certificates and medals. It is a treasured and emotional event for all and quite a few joyous tears were shed. We, at Christopher Robin Pre-Primary could not have been prouder to share this fantastic event in person with you. As our quarter and year nears a natural conclusion with fond and precious memories, we bid a loving and tender farewell to our amazing learners whom we have witnessed flourish. We have nurtured their interest, fostered their development and proudly shared in their successes. Well done and thank you to each and every Christopher Robin Pre-Primary learner! We wish all of our precious children and their families a safe, healthy and peaceful holiday and a well deserved rest this Festive Season. We cannot wait to see you return, looking magnificent and distinguished in your uniforms in 2022! “Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye, Cheerio, here I go, on my way.”
