Inclement weather played havoc with many of the fixtures; nevertheless, the team performed exceptionally well against these traditional cricket schools. A highlight was our win over Grey PE by 9 wickets on the last day! Special congratulations and huge respect to our captain, Darian Naidoo, who was selected for the u/17AWestern Province Cricket team. He will be participating in the National Cricket Week in Port Elizabeth from 11 – 15 December 2019. What an inspiration he is to every young cricketer at the College. CHESS Chris Boshoff, only in Grade 8, continues to excel in the Western Cape Chess competitions. His rating keeps improving and he was invited to attend the Western Province Chess training camp in September. He was fortunate enough to be trained by Fida Chess Master, Calvin Klaasen and International Chess Master, Watu Kobese. He has lead our chess team to many victories and we look forward to the growth of Chess in the year to come. SOFTBALL Congratulations to Tara Goliath and Jade Apsey who were selected for the Western Cape WCSA u/17 softball teams. Parklands College is the only school with two players selected for this team. The softball department of the College is going from strength to strength and we acknowledge all the managers and coaches for their commitment and dedication. TENNIS Congratulations to Ryan Baines, Ulrich Koch, Jaryd Visser, Micaella Korsten and Storm Pike who continue to fly the Parklands tennis flag high.
