Quarter 4 Newsletter DECEMBER 2019

The little ones thoroughly enjoyed enacting a variety of roles in our fabulous concert, “Clara’s Dream”, from the Nutcracker, rats and mice, to soldiers to Sweeties. The Grade R's spent many hours rehearsing and our little actors were very proud to narrate, dance and act. An extraordinary and precious moment in the Grade R calendar is our annual Graduation Ceremony. The Grade R learners looked amazing as they proudly dressed up, looking so smart in their graduation outfits. The graduates played a melody on the recorder, beautifully in unison and sang a repertoire of special songs. It is a treasured and emotional event for all those in attendance and few were left with a dry eye. As this quarter draws to a close, with the fondest memories, we sadly bid farewell to our little people, whom we have witnessed develop and flourish throughout the year. We have proudly observed their progress and accomplishments and wish all our special children and their families a most peaceful and relaxing holiday and a wonderful Festive Season. “Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye, Cheerio, here I go, on my way.” Tali Maltz, Samantha Eagle and Anine De Lange To conclude our themes about different countries, the entire pre- primary went on a journey “around the world in one day”. We “visited” various places and learned more about various countries through activities. We tasted delicious food from around the world. This was definitely one of the highlights of the year. We wish all our little ones the very best for their new and exciting adventures in Grade 00 next year. Thank you for a magical year full of cherished memories. Candice Kemp and Suzette Watkins GRADE 00 Our quarter began with lots of fun, singing practise and concert rehearsals. When the big day finally arrived there was great excitement. The Roos and Kangas sang their hearts out and made their parents and teachers very proud! We enjoyed many different themes, but the children’s favourite was learning all about the different countries and their landmarks. Our final school activity was our "Around the World" trip. The children made their own passports, tasted cuisine and took part in different cultural activities, not forgetting to have their passports stamped! What a wonderful year it has been, filled with many memorable moments. It has been an absolute pleasure watching each and every little one grow and flourish this year. It is bittersweet to see them spreading their wings and moving on next year. We wish our little "superstars" everything of the very best for 2020. Have a wonderful holiday! Sarah de Graeff and Lauren Cowing GRADE R Our final quarter has been filled with moments of great pride and accomplishment. Our themes have captivated the interest of our learners, specifically that of wild animals, reptiles and dinosaurs. The learners were delighted to create beautiful animal masks and learn fascinating facts about these amazing creatures. We have been filled with a sense of awe and wonder, supporting our amazing Springbok rugby team. We delighted in celebrating our excitement as our Bokke made it through each trial and we supported by drawing South African flags, Springbokke, designing Rugby balls, dressing in Bokke shirts and dancing along to wonderful South African music in the Garden. Some incredible portraits of our superstar players were proudly on display. This raised awareness of the significant themes of unity, teamwork and being “Stronger together”. One of our annual highlights is always the end of the year concert.
