Quarter 4 Newsletter DECEMBER 2019

caterpillars and daisy art. “Books and fantasy” were a popular theme in the Ladybirds class. The little ones really enjoyed bringing their favorite books to school for their teacher to read. They absolutely loved the gingerbread man puppet show and delighted in exploring and trying on some of the finger puppets themselves. The Caterpillars have loved water play and squeezing water out of big bottles and ‘painting’ with water on the paving. In the build-up to the Rugby World Cup finals it was lovely to have our little ones dress up in their supporters jerseys as we printed our handprints to create a collective South African flag. There was much excitement as we travelled around the world in one day! The Caterpillars and Ladybirds represented The Netherlands while the Butterflies represented China. What a fantastic way to bring this busy quarter to an end. The children had so much fun while tasting the most delicious cuisine. Thank you to all our parents and children for making 2019 a very memorable one. Wishing you all very happy holidays. Ingrid Lubbe, Jamie Udeman and Lauren Medcalf GRADE 000 We have had such an exciting and busy quarter. The Tiggers and Honey Bees hard work, preparation and enthusiasm resulted in a fabulous and much loved end of year concert. We were so proud of the children’s confidence and their bravery. Well done to all our superstars! This quarter, we focused on consolidating and re-enforcing concepts that we have learned throughout the year. The children have grown and developed in so many ways. We are very proud of them! Our themes “South Africa” and “Cape Town” were popular. We thoroughly enjoyed learning more about our beautiful country, as well as what makes Cape Town special. There was much excitement for the Rugby World Cup win, which created even more pride in our country. PRE-PRIMARY FACULTY GRADES 0000 - R . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . From the Principal’s Office Chantel Lamb The sunny weather brings with it much outdoor play and fun and we have certainly made the most of our beautiful gardens and fabulous climbing equipment and adventure play. Our concerts were very special. Clara’s Dream was certainly a hit and enjoyed by many. Our little ones all did extremely well and we are very proud of them. Special thanks to Riette and Bronwen for directing the concert and to the individual class teachers and assistants, who put a great deal of effort into the preparation. Well done and thank you! The Grade R Graduation was the final celebration of the year and it was once again a very special ceremony. We all beamed with pride. As we look back on our graduates’ time in Christopher Robin Pre-Primary, we are exceptionally proud of their remarkable growth. We have thoroughly enjoyed being part of their educational journey. For our last Outreach Project we have been collecting small gifts for children at Maitland Cottage Orthopaedic Hospital (MCH). The MCH is the most prominent paediatric orthopaedic hospital in Africa and is currently performing over 550 life- changing operations per annum. We are proud to say that 2019 marks another year of great support of many commendable and worthy charities. We would like to extend a sincere thank you to our CRPP families who have generously reached out, to support those in need. There is no doubt that through the vision and direction of Lorraine Roth, our Pre-Primary is indeed a very special and unique place. I would like to pay tribute to the teachers who have enthusiastically nurtured and guided your little ones throughout the year. They are not only passionate about their teaching but have a genuine concern for each little one in their care. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our parent body for their support and input throughout the year. We pride ourselves on the fantastic relationship we have with our parents and look forward to continuing to work together in 2020. Congratulations to all our children on their hard work and progress over the past year. I wish our parents and learners a very blessed Festive Season and a wonderful holiday. We look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Wednesday, 15 January 2020 and wish the Grade 1’s of 2020 all the very best for their exciting new adventures. CRACKERJACKS The Crackerjacks have welcomed the warmer weather with open arms and have really enjoyed exploring the garden. It has been so sweet to observe the little ones carefully listening to the birds chirping away in the trees and watching the little crawling creatures. The Butterflies really enjoyed the “my garden” theme. They delighted in balloon and finger painting while creating their beautiful hungry
