35 2021 | Edition No. 24 | Reading is the gateway to our imagination and the many possibilities we envisage. It helps us to create a sense of the world around us but also to live beyond our everyday constraints. Reading teaches us to build, develop and grow. When you give a child the gift of reading, you give them a practical yet magical ability. We thank our parents and learners for sharing this amazing gift with others. The educators supported our learn- ers through new challenges and promoted collaboration, creativity and critical thinking through our Project Based Learning activities and taught enduring values through fostering our Growing Minds. We have showcased our Grade 5s’ “My storybook” (written and illustrated by the Grade 5s) and Stop Frame Animations created by the Grade 6s. Our Grade 3s held a Space Planet morning and Grade 5s shared their Minecraft Project Based Learning task. Grade 1s learnt to use new apps, Grade 2s invited us to visit their Animal Habitats and Grade 4s hosted a “This is Me” museum. We are extremely proud of these amaz- ing learners and teachers for their hard work, their commitment to creating projects they can be proud of and for being so eager to share! We have entered competitions and received accolades, celebrated all things sporty, found time to focus on our enrichment and culture, and even held a few dress-up days this year. We have thoroughly enjoyed the diverse opportunities afforded us and loved the creativity and flair seen in the Preparatory Faculty. We say thank you to our educators who invest time in preparing meaningful lessons and engaging with learners during the year. To our parents, thank you for your support and for sharing encouraging emails and words of kindness with us. This magazine is testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment shown by our learners and educators. From our wide-eyed eager Grade 1s at the beginning of the year to our confident and self assured Grade 6s, we are all “Reaching Outwards, Growing Minds, Building Futures”.
