138 | Edition No. 24 | 2021 PRO LEAGUE HIGHLIGHTS Our prefects, Anika and David, came up with a brilliant idea of an “IPL/NBA” style sum- mer sporting Pro League. The franchise names voted for by our learners on Instagram were: the Pirates (grey), the Phantoms (Pink), the Patriots (Orange) and the Pistons (Purple). New logos were designed by Darushen Pillay and we promoted this very ex- citing internal competition at our sport assembly. All learners that signed up for a sum- mer sport were placed in a random selector application and the sport prefects hosted the selection of each code into a franchise. Over the last two weeks of quarter one our trail running, tennis, softball and cricket sporting codes represented their franchises in competitive matches. Some codes were divided into GET and FET whilst some played with all grades. The highlight was to see the camaraderie amongst younger and older learners in teams which just brought the College closer together. We hope to continue this Pro League format in the future which we hope will bring about more knowledge, competition and a closer knit school community. SUMMER PRO LEAGUE
