This initiative is still continuing. FALLEN ANGELS DRIVE We collaborated with two clubs at our school, Mindful Living and Green Solutions on a fundraiser. All donations went to Fallen Angels. VAATJIE PRIMARY SCHOOL DRIVE We have also collected Winter Clothes for the students at Vaatjie Primary seeing that we are not al- lowed to continue with our Literacy Project. ONE - TO - ONE FEEDBACK Every year Parklands Interact vol- unteers assist at this worthy ini- tiative which helps the community of the intellectually disabled. This year due to Covid-19 the event was cancelled, however on Mon- day, 10 August, we could assist in packing care packages for those who would have attended the event. These efforts, coupled with volun- teers from other organisations, to- talled over 2500 packages packed in the week. These packages have since been delivered to the WC Forum for onward distribution to the ben- eficiaries at various locations. A message from Albert Glass (co- ordinator of this project) to the Interactors: “Thank you to all the Interactors that volunteered their time, it has greatly paid off. Your efforts and enthusiasm were so infectious that we achieved our goal so swiftly this morning. A HUGE thanks to all of you!” AUGUST AWARENESS MONTH Our August Awareness consisted of different awareness campaigns which included a Sanitary Pad Drive for Inkwenkwezi, seeing that it fell into Women’s Month; Beach Clean- ups at Eden on the Bay; an Environ- mental Documentary on keeping our oceans clean; doggie walking at Wolwerivier and assisting with food parcelling at the Change Mak- ers Hub. It also coincided with Slip- per Day in aid of Reach for a Dream. We would like to wish the incoming Interact Committee the best of luck for 2021 and thank our very sup- portive, kind and loving Parklands family for constantly making a dif- ference in the lives of others.
