Each of our learners has their own device configured with GSuite allowing us to communicate and share digitally. The introduction of Google Meet added a secure way for us to communicate with each other within the Parklands family using video. Our educators quickly adapted their lessons to teach online. The collaborative teaching style continued into our on- line learning and learners con- tinued to use the skills learned at school to collaborate online using shared documents, Google Meets and movies. This new way of learning allowed us to invite people from all over the world to easily share their stories with our learners. In grade 8 Creative Arts learners inter- viewed various artists about how the Show Must Go On… despite Covid19 and lockdown. This real world engagement took learning to the next level. We continued with infor- mal assessments using a variety of platforms such as Google Forms, GoFormative, Quizlet, Quizziz, Kahoot, EdPuz- zle, PearDeck and many more. One of the key apps for our educa- tors was Explain Everything as this gave each educator and learner a collaborative whiteboard that could be used for learning and teaching. Our educators were able to share many of their learn- ing tools with colleagues in other schools assist- ing them with their transition to online. There are some ways of doing things that have now forever changed. As we tran- sitioned back to masked face to face teaching, we continue to innovate using the learning from lockdown and move forward with this blended learning approach.
