13 On our allocated bike days, the school was lively and humming with the zooming and scooting of bikes. The learners were thrilled to show off their bikes of all shapes, sizes and colours and to test their racing skills. Our ball days were also very popular as we learnt new games and improved our coordination and ball skills. The May Play is always a much anticipated and very special time for us in the Pre-Primary. For these little ones, it is a mixture of excitement, nerves and having the confidence to be on stage in front of so many people. We all enjoyed the singing and were most proud of our children. We celebrated the start of spring creatively with a Mad Hatter’s Spring Day Celebration. We decorated spring hats and there were some colourful and wonderful creations. Our Pre-Primary was such a festive place filled with lots of fresh spring energy and fun! The Robbie the Robot Show taught the Grade 000s the importance of road safety. Street signs, traffic lights and safety in a parking lot were taught through song, movement and role- play. While learning about life cycles, the Grade 00s had an interactive show focussing on honey bees and their role on our planet. They also enjoyed an interactive show and danced and sang while they learnt about mammals. The Grade Rs learnt more about water during theWater Cycle Adventures Show. They followed Geo and his new friend, Thalie, as they set off to learn about the value of water and how to conserve it. Experi-Buddies has fostered a love for Science in Grade R and the children learnt more about seeds and germination. Our budding scientists are eager to explore properties of many different kinds of materials and substances, such as oil, Sunlight liquid and milk, bicarbonate of soda and vinegar. They have been learning all about cause and effect, as well as trial and error, during our interactive classroom experiments. The Grade 000s and 00s learnt their concert song words and were very brave and excited to perform their songs for the end-of-year concert. Throughout the Pre-Primary, we could hear the sound of singing as the children practised their songs. The Grade Rs showcased the spectacular ‘Clara’s Dream’ and the audience, and children, were enthralled by the magnificent costumes and lovely production. The Grade R graduation was a culmination of a year of nurturing, learning and establishing lasting friendships. This momentous occasion was indeed special for both parents and educators alike. We are very proud of how much the learners have blossomed and matured during their time at CRPP. “Our stage of education is critical and we continue to lay the foundation and celebrate and nurture all we hold dear for our little children: happiness, confidence, resilience and developing good brains, bodies and hearts.”
