Our top runners, Chris - tine Greig (Grade 10) and Deon Bochnig (Grade 9), have held onto their top 10 rankings in the League and we are confident that they will be invited to theWestern Province trials. COACHES: Elmarie Randewijk & Donovan Duffield MANAGERS: Elmarie Randewijk & Marc Viljoen CRICKET Cricket continues to grow at the College, but we have experienced some disappointments with the opposition cancelling a number of junior matches first quarter. However, we were able to celebrate a number of highlights throughout the season from all the teams. The U13 team only SPORT SECONDARY FACULTY SOFTBALL Softball continues to be a popular sport amongst our girls. This year we entered six teams into theWestern Province league. A fairly new and youthful 1st team played exceptionally well with Liezl Myburgh leading the team to 6 out of 8 victories. The other teams improved as the season continued and we look forward to building this popular and enjoyable sport.The participants must be commended on their commitment and dedication during a busy softball season. As mentioned, the U13 tournament was the highlight of the season and we hope the tournament becomes a permanent fixture in our sporting calendar. This year we did not only have various North District players; Kiera O’Sullivan, Isabella De Sousa,Ytu Lima Goncalves, Maapi Molomo, Kabalano Moloto, but also twoWestern Cape repre - sentatives; Jade Apsey and Tara Goliath. The highlights for the year, were the invita - tions by Paarl Boys High; Rondebosch and Paarl Gymna - sium proving that Parklands College is held in high regard with our recent performances. We are extremely proud to announce that Shane Rosslind (Grade 12) has been selected for theWestern Province Academy team; whilst Kelvin Sadia (Grade 9) has been selected for the U/15 team and to further enhance his skill and talent he was selected for the U/15WP sevens team. Shane’s selection has ensured that, for the past 5 years, a Parklands College rugby player has made a Provincial team. This is a true testament to our commitment towards expanding our rugby programme.
