We did, however, attend one gala at Fairmont High School. Our learners did extremely well considering that we had very little practice in the water. Girls were placed third and the boys sixth overall at this gala. All other galas for the Summer Quarter were cancelled. In the second half of the season, the majority of our swimmers continued to swim for their respective clubswhich allowed them to qualify for competing in the Level 1, 2, 3 or SA championships. Parklands encouraged and supported these swimmers, as many of them have gone on to achieve outstanding results at provincial and national galas. Parklands resumed swimming in the league and took part in the first few galas hosted during the Spring Quarter. Our swimmers did us proud and we look forward to the start of 2019. Congratulations to Luke and Lindi Cillie on their outstanding achievement for once again being chosen to form part of the National Swimming squad. WATERPOLO For the first half of the season we were sadly restricted owing to the drought in Cape Town. We decided to take our learners to the Lifesavers' Club on Eden on the Bay for alternative fitness and water experience. We were very happy to start our pre-season training in our own pool during the month of September, even though the weather did not always play along. We fully resumed participation in the league in the Spring Quarter and our players performed very well. We are looking forward to a fun-filled and successful water polo season continuing in 2019. 150. 21st Edition
