Magazine 2018

Cat Issacs from the SSFSA conducted a highly successful three- hour ensemble workshop for learners in preparation for their performance at The Baxter. Many new resources have been made available with the purchase of new books of South African plays and the very exciting institution subscription to Digital Theatre Plus. This is a world class resource which has an impressive collection of filmed performances and interviews in its archives as well as hundreds of articles, study guides and other resources available to Parklands College Drama learners. It is no small wonder that our learners are excelling as they are now plugged into a resource that allows them to engage with world- class performances at the touch of a button. This has encouraged the further integration of technology into the creative mix in the form of learners' podcasts, videos and multimedia projects. The focus for the second half of the year has been on screen acting and on preparing learners for the next major production in 2019. It has been a stimulating year and we acknowledge and thank Mr Wyngaard and Ms Dodders for their efforts and enormous contribution to the success of the Drama department this year. There’s no business like show business and nothing as great as strong creative partnership. 131. parklands.co.za
