Inspiring the Next Generation of Earth and Space Inventors and Explorers
Our plan
Our ambitious plan includes sending a nano satellite into orbit in the near future.
Our first Space camp took place in April 2023. This was in collaboration with the AeroSpace Research Institute (ASRI) from the University of Kwazulu Natal and MaxIQ.Space. We launched our first electronic payload at Mach 2.2, 15km into the sky on their Phoenix 1C rocket. Unfortunately, our payload was lost due to very windy conditions at the Arniston Military base, but who said rocket science was easy anyway? We would like to extend a very special thank you to ASRI and MaxIQ.Space for the launch and learning opportunity.
Declan Saul, one of our young, talented space enthusiasts, completed the installation of our very own TinyGS Ground Station. TinyGS is an open network of Ground Stations distributed around the world to receive and operate LoRa satellites, weather probes and other flying objects, using cheap and versatile modules. This allows us to communicate directly with satellites and receive various types of data in return, and has taken us another step further on our journey into space.
