159 2020 | Edition No. 23 | Sports Quiz. There were 50 of the tough- est sport questions between them and suc- cess. A lot of fun was had as the sports department hosted the event live, broad- casting into each living room. This is defi - nitely an event for the future! On the back of The Incredibly Impossible Sports Quiz, Parklands College was con- tacted by Reach for a Dream, to run a quiz evening to support the great work that the organisation does. For this event the Dra- ma and Sport Departments collaborated to create Drama in the Sports Department. Another memorable evening was had, while raising funds and awareness for the work at Reach for a Dream. As school life slowly resembled what it looked like pre-lockdown, we were able to reintroduce physical activity. We start- ed with PE, and the response that we got from the learners in the initial weeks of PE was astonishing! The enthusiasm that the classes showed when they were at PE was fantastic to see. Even though each individual was limited to work in their own block, the learners shared cama- raderie and the same com- petitiveness that they had before. It was evident that the learners had missed being able to run around freely and test their bodies, and more importantly, test themselves against their peers. As we look forward to 2021, the one thing we do know is that it will look very differ- ent to 2020. What a year it has been! No matter what it holds, we know that 2020 has taught us how to handle any situation. “The most important thing is to work hard.
