141 PRE-PRIMARY This year we have once again wit- nessed an outpouring of love in terms of opening our hearts to those in need in our immediate midst as well as further afield in our commu - nity. Our outreach projects were well supported by our learners and par- ent body and we thank them for their efforts. We started the year collecting school stationery for Home of Hope. During the month of February, we collected over 600 non-perishable food items for Little Brinks. To cel- ebrate Valentine’s Day, the children thoroughly enjoyed dressing in red, pink and white, and we spread the love as all donations were given to the Red Cross Children’s Hospital. We also collected Marshmallow eggs for the Durbanville Children’s home, Elundini Centre and Huis Yzterplaat Retirement home. To celebrate International Children’s Day on 1 June, the children enjoyed a teddy bear’s picnic. It was a delight to see our little ones with their fluffy toys sharing their yummy lunches. Our R10 admission fee for our teddy bears was used to assist Sisonke Si- bambisene Early Childhood Develop- ment Centre. In support of “Reach For A Dream”, many of our children jumped out of bed and came straight to school in their Pjs and slippers (although we do hope they brushed their teeth!) There was much excitement in the Pre-Primary as we didn’t have to get dressed in proper clothes that morning. We are very proud to have raised R1150.00 During the month of June, the chil- dren and families of Christopher Robin Pre-Primary collected edu- cational toys for Little People’s Den Educare Centre in our community. Lucky Lucy and Fallen Angels help and care for severely neglected and abused animals and do amazing work in our community. This quarter we were delighted to contribute and collect tinned and packaged food, blankets and toys for these neglected animals. The Pre-Primary came alive with excitement for our annual SPCA dress-up day.The children dressed up as their favourite animals and the classrooms and playgrounds were full of puppies, bunnies, butterflies, lions, tigers and crocodiles. Another great cause that we sup- ported this year was Souper Troop- ers. This amazing cause feeds the homeless. The Christopher Robin Pre-Primary children and families col- lected sandwiches to support them. As our last Outreach project we have been collecting small gifts for children at Maitland Cottage Orthopaedic Hospital. As ongoing projects throughout the year we collect bread tags for wheel- chairs. Bread tags come in many shapes, sizes and colours. and have a good recycling value. It takes 200 bread bags full of tags that are packed into 10 black bags or 200 kg of tags to bring in enough money to buy one wheelchair. This year we have supported many different charities and would like to thank our CRPP families for support- ing our outreach projects so well.
