Nice follow through, U/10 - Softball SOFTBALL Parklands Softball delivered another fun filled experience for all players and coaches. Our girls enjoyed coaching clinics offered by a provincial Baseball player which certainly contributed to the growth of our junior Softball. Our girls were also fortunate to be guided by this coach throughout the season. Softball is a sport that teaches the basic fundamentals of hand-eye co-ordination and gross motor skills like throwing, catching, hitting and running. Our girls displayed excellent batting skills and teamwork throughout the season to achieve great results. Our Grade 3 team enjoyed their first match opportunities and all our softball girls have shown great character and delivered moments of outstanding sportsmanship when facing their opponents. The girls and their coaches have been persevering at practice sessions with the aim to perfect skills and techniques. It was also pleasing to see how they enjoy playing the game. A special mention and thanks to our experienced Softball Coaches. Their knowledge of the game and their coaching skills were remarkable. CHESS The Parklands chess team competed extremely well in their local league encounters, while also enjoying the playing opportunities created as Parklands entered numerous Saturday Chess tournaments and events. Individually, the players have also made tremendous progress as they work hard towards their goals to qualify for the district play-off matches at the end of the season. We congratulate Yul Kwon and Alexander Steininger who qualified for the Western Province Primary Schools Chess teams in their respective age categories. Our Chess players are now able to confidently face opposition from the best players in the Western Province. 31 32 73. parklands.co.za
