Robotics obotics o o s ob tic The Grade R’s are always very excited to attend Robotics. They had great fun creating their own constructions, using various sized wheels and axles. This involved listening carefully in order to correctly follow instructions to build a truck with a trailer and a racing car. Building a car launcher created a great deal of excitement in the class while, at the same time, enabled the children to explore cause and effect. They especially enjoyed testing out the cars and launchers on the tables, as well as taking turns to race and see whose car was the fastest. While our little people were exposed to much discovery and learning throughout the year in Robotics, the highlights were certainly learning about and working with wind turbines and sail boats. The children were fascinated to learn how their sail boats were able to move and how signals are transmitted from cellphones. The Grade R’s also explored and learnt about levers, structures and gears. As if that’s not enough, as young as they are, our children have been introduced to coding and had the opportunity to play various coding games and engage in activities that promote computational thinking. 38. 21st Edition
