Grade 11 Venture Forth. Each day was packed with activities that challenged and pushed them, like a beautiful scenic walk along Kleinmond Beach, in order to arrive at an estuary where they were able to go water tubing, behind a speedboat. This activity proved to be thrilling and unexpectedly exhausting. The 15km hike through the Hottentots- Holland mountain area felt like walking through a landscape painting; the flora and fauna were breathtakingly beautiful, which was a welcome distraction from some of the steeper climbs. Once they reached the Palmiet River, the Grade 11s were able to take a refreshing swim, while a brave few abseiled down one of the rock-faces. The third and final activity included a casual paddle on the river, while taking in the sights of some rare bird species, predominant in that area. On returning to camp, the second part of this day was spent slowing down and looking inward, with the Flow-Evolution workshop. The Potjiekos Competition on the last night proved to be the real grand finale of camp. The Grade 11s loved every moment of their camp and returned tired, happy and much closer as a Grade. 1.
