Parklands College learners stand together proudly and sing a welcome song to everybody who joined us for Derby Day this year. “Do not become a prisoner of performance. Yes, it is great to win and we must always encourage our children to do their best, but it is also important to love and enjoy the sport they are playing. It is our responsibility as parents to support and encourage but to also guide our children to healthy competition, realistic expectations, the enjoyment of sport and the true meaning of sportsmanship.” – Gary Kirsten (addressing Parklands Parents) Despite the drought in the Western Cape this year and the subsequent curveballs the College had to face in the sports arena, we have seen growth and development in terms of participation, as well as outcomes.
