SUMMER Sporting Codes Mini CRICKET Through our mini cricket programme, we aim to introduce our boys and girls to the game of cricket in a manner that is fun and assists each individual to master the necessary skills. It is very encouraging to see so many children develop such a keen enthusiasm for cricket at their young age. Matches provide the learners with additional opportunities to learn and develop their skills. Rather than focusing on the result, coaches and managers always encourage the learners to focus on their techniques. It was pleasing to see how our young learners developed during the mini cricket season in 2017. We wish our U/9s well as they progress to hard ball cricket next year. Cricket Cricket is essentially a game combining individual and social skills. Be it at the crease or on the field, or just providing encouragement, cricket is the ultimate team sport, a game of glorious uncertainties. At Parklands College, cricket remains one of the most popular summer sports. Our Under 11/A and U/12A teams showed tremendous growth as they were exposed to intense training sessions, focusing on perfecting the basic cricket techniques and skills. The hard work paid off as this team produced excellent performances against very strong cricketing schools. Our U/10, U/11B and U/12B teams impressed with consistent improvement and teamwork throughout the year. We wish the U/12 cricket boys everything of the best in the high school. 11. 12. 11.
