Creating Authentic Learning Experiences at Parklands College Reaching Outwards, Growing Minds, Building Futures Parklands College Studios provide the outlet for young talent to experience the music and film industries, from the creation of an original work through to its release on a public platform. These multimedia facilities are a hive of activity and an innovative space for collaboration on any project and subject. Our sound engineering learners, musicians and filmmakers continually embrace opportunities to express themselves in a professional environment for an authentic audience. Our Studios released a digital album called “Origin” on iTunes in 2014 and we have recently followed on its success with “Origin Vol. 2”. PARKLANDS COLLEGE STUDIOS The vision for our Mobile Application Development Incubator (MAD) is to create young entrepreneurs of the future by teaching our learners how to solve real world problems through the development of professional, relevant, commercial and educational applications for the global market. As an Apple school and using SWIFT as the development platform, we are able to use the Apple APP store to reach the global market. Our latest app called “Safer Web” which was released in August 2017, provides a safer browsing environment for younger learners who are exploring the web, while giving parents and educators peace of mind. In May 2017 our incubator team was also proudly able to acknowledge their contribution to global education when one of their applications, “Simple Learning Time”, received 25 000 downloads in a US district in one day. MAD At Parklands College we believe that the best way to prepare our learners for the future is to provide a school environment where they can focus on their own needs, interests and passions, learn by doing, innovate, make their own decisions, and work together towards solving real world problems in a professional environment that has an impact on a larger community.
