Counselling and Career Guidance

The Counselling and Career Guidance Department is considered to be an integral part of the educational process at Parklands College. It provides a multitude of developmental and support services in order to provide the holistic development of our learners. Our primary purpose is to empower learners to lead healthy and productive lives by assisting them with academic issues, educational and career planning, as well as overcoming personal difficulties. Guest speakers are regularly invited to address the learners on a variety of topics and interests.
Grade 9 learners take part in a series of workshops that explore personal interests, personality profiles, aptitude abilities and university admission requirements, in order to guide them with subject choices. Grade 10 and 11 learners are required to research opportunities in their field of interest with individual specialists and organisations, in order to arrange job shadow days.

Accredited national and international Higher Education and Training institutions are invited to the College in order to showcase their courses and programmes.
