Weekly Memo 2 – 6 August
Wet Wipes and Tissues
Please don’t forget to send in a box of tissues and a packet of wet wipes. The wet wipes help to keep our little ones hands and faces clean at all times. Also, a reminder to please send in warmer clothes and suitable shoes for our outdoor play. (Don’t forget to label with their name) Thank you.
Collection Times
A friendly reminder that Grade R learners should be collected between 13h00 and 13h30 unless previously arranged with your teacher. It can be disruptive to the class when learners are collected earlier as the teaching programme is set out until 13h00. We thank you for your understanding and support with this.
Outreach Society
This quarter we have chosen to support two very important charities in the Table View and Du Noon area and will be collecting various items for the “Home of Hope” and “Little Lambs”.
Little Lambs is a non-profit organisation that distributes essential items and baby products to vulnerable children and babies. Many of the little ones they support have either HIV or TB, or have been abused, abandoned or orphaned. The Home of Hope is well known and creates a loving and caring environment for abused, abandoned, neglected and HIV babies, as well as youth.
Please contribute; by sending any of the following items to school, it would be much appreciated by both the ladies who run Little Lambs and The Home of Hope, as well as the children, babies and families they assist!
Wish list:
Nappies – birth to 18kg
Baby Toiletries – shampoo, powder, Vaseline, soap, etc
Wet Wipes
Purity
Pro-nutro
A little rattle or toy
Thank you
- Thank you to our learners that dressed in blue on Founder’s Day and brought their R5 on Friday 23 July; we raised R615 to be donated to the Red Cross Children’s Hospital.
- Thank you to Mrs Kershaw-Nel for the donation of clothes to a charity we support
Congratulations
Congratulations to Corinna Claffey and family on the arrival of her new baby brother, Benjamin. We can’t wait to meet him.
Class Competition
It is once again time for a class competition. We will be collecting 2 litre and 5 litre ice cream containers as well as nails, buttons, bottle tops, corks, wool and felt. Please send these items to your child’s class teacher. The closing date for the collection is Friday 13 August and the winning class will receive a surprise treat.
Thenga Time
You are welcome to send your little ones money in advance for the rest of the quarter (i.e. 8 x R2 coins) or hand in
your R2 on Thenga days to the class teacher. Thank you.
Thank you to all the mom’s who kindly assisted with Roo’s House Thenga Time on Friday 23 July.
Next Thenga time is on Friday 30 July and will be hosted by Owl’s House and Pooh Bear’s House; if you are able to
assist, please notify Justine and Riette. Thank you.
